FAQ

How many classes does Emberville have?
Not announced. Cygnus Cross has confirmed a combat class system with skill inheritance but has not published a class count or class names. Any list you see before the demo is a guess.
What is the best class in Emberville?
Nobody can answer that yet — and claims made before the game is playable are guesses. Because classes can be changed anytime and inherit skills from each other, "best" will depend on what you inherit into it.
Can I play multiple classes on one character?
That is the design — official material says classes can be changed anytime and skills are inherited from other learnt classes, so one character accumulates a skill pool across classes.

The short answer

Emberville’s classes are a combat class system: you pick a fighting style, and — per official material — classes can inherit passive and active skills from other learnt classes, with class switching available at any time. Class names and counts are not announced; this page documents them the day they become testable.

What is confirmed about classes

  1. Classes are a combat identity. Official material centers the fighting style discussion on the class system.
  2. Skills cross class lines. Inheritance covers passives and actives from every class you have learnt — see how skill inheritance works.
  3. Switching is free and permanent-ish. “Change your class anytime” is the official phrasing; one character can sample every style.
  4. Your look is separate from your class. The character creator handles hair, beards, facial features and colors independently of what you play.

How a class build actually comes together

Because of inheritance, an Emberville build is a stack, not a single pick:

  1. Learn — play a class to unlock its skills.
  2. Inherit — move the passives and actives that fit your plan into your current class.
  3. Switch — change class anytime without losing what you learnt.
  4. Upgrade — skills and weapons improve through leveling, items and rescued villagers.

From October 19 (the Next Fest demo), tested class write-ups begin landing in the classes database — one class per page, firsthand, with the build version noted. Until then, every honest source agrees on one thing: the list you may have seen on social media is not official.
