Early Access starts October 27, 2026

Emberville’s first public release is an Early Access launch on Steam on October 27, 2026, planned to run for about 18 months before the full version. The Steam page carries the plan directly from the developer, Cygnus Cross.

What ships at launch, officially

The Early Access plan lists: single-player content from the start into mid-game, base building, gathering, crafting, farming and cooking, equipment and skills systems, melee, magic and ranged combat, and KB&M plus controller support. See the full launch-vs-1.0 table in the roadmap guide.

What “Early Access” means in practice

Buying into Early Access buys the current state of the game plus its development ahead:

  1. It is playable, not final. Core systems are in, but content, balance, and features can change at any patch.
  2. Numbers move. Damage values, drop rates, and skill behavior can be rebalanced between updates — treat any stat you read (including here) as snapshot-in-time, and check a page’s last-verified date.
  3. Progress may reset. Early Access saves occasionally break between major versions. Backup saves before big patches.
  4. Feedback shapes it. During Early Access the developer can adjust direction based on what players report.

How this site handles Early Access data

Because the game can change under our feet, every factual page on this site carries a verification badge and a last-verified date:

  • Confirmed Official — straight from official material.
  • Tested In-Game — verified by us, in a publicly available build.
  • Preview Source / Community Report — exactly what they say; lower confidence.

Patch-by-patch changes will be tracked under Patch Notes.
